What is acupuncture ?Acupuncture is an ancient and effective form of medical treatment originating in China that is rapidly gaining popularity in the West.
This system of holistic medicine is based on the free movement of energy pathways throughout the body. When the free flow of energy is somehow blocked or interrupted, it can result in a variety of health complaints including chronic pain, migraines, neuropathy, insomnia, anxiety, and fertility issues. Your acupuncturist is trained in techniques used to free blockages and promote the free flow of energy once again. This allows your body to heal naturally, build immunity, and promote your overall well-being. This is done all without the use of drugs or invasive procedures.

Acupuncture ProceduresYour Acupuncturist![]() Annette Tapia-Cornet originally came to Washington, DC to work as an attorney, but soon realized a full-time law practice was not her calling. She discovered a passion for the healing arts after using yoga and alternative therapies to recover from a serious injury to both ankles. It was not long before she decided to give up law to pursue a career in Eastern Medicine. Annette is heavily influenced by Five-Element Acupuncture, which focuses on treating a patient at his or her deepest constitutional level. She specializes in treating anxiety, insomnia, and fertility issues. She has also received advanced training in Facial Rejuvenation techniques. Annette loves acupuncture because it is a holistic practice taking into account all the emotional, environmental, and physical factors affecting an individual. Annette is originally from South Florida, and earned both her B.A. and J.D. from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. She completed a terminal degree in Acupuncture at Tai Sophia Institute (a Five-Element school) in Laurel, MD.
